Just outside Phnom Penh I came across this scene: A few young men barbequeing a dog.
Eating dog does happen in Cambodia, even though many people will blame the habit on the Vietnamese. Many dog owners choose to look very closely after their dogs, being worried that they may be stolen by hungry people looking for food. You will also find dog in some rare restaurants.
This video was shot in a camp for people evicted from one of the development areas in Phnom Penh. Most people in this area are very poor, and getting enough food is a daily struggle.
